This is a single-elimination quarterfinal, with the winner advancing to the Leagues Cup semifinals. Club América enters at the top of the Liga MX Apertura table, while Columbus is trying to add another tournament run after winning Leagues Cup in 2024.
América has averaged 2.3 goals through its first three tournament matches. Columbus has averaged 2.0, setting up a late-night matchup with scoring threats on both sides.
The semifinals are scheduled for Sept. 1 and 2. The final and third-place match will be played Sept. 6, with the tournament’s top three finishers qualifying for the Concacaf Champions Cup.
