Now, after another commanding win, in which it scored three goals yet again, this time in the Round of 32, France will play Paraguay in a Round of 16 showdown on July 4.\u00a0<\/p>\n Potential Paths:<\/strong> In a bracket-style tournament like the World Cup, some of it comes down to who you are and some of it comes down to who you face. Assuming it continues its dominance, France’s path to the semifinals would require wins over Paraguay and the winner of Canada and Morocco. France is a huge favorite against Paraguay and would presumably be a sizable favorite at least all the way up to the semis. For Argentina, for it to make it to the semifinals, it would need wins over Cape Verde, the winner of Australia-Egypt, and the winner of Switzerland vs. Colombia\/Ghana. Argentina will be favored heavily in any of those potential matches as well.
